Louise is a Clinical Psychologist with expertise in working with children, adolescents and teenagers experiencing mental health difficulties. She currently works within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service for Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. Louise also works in private practice within the Bromley area providing clinical psychology services for children, adolescents and families.
Utilising an integrated approach to clinical work, based on comprehensive assessment and formulation, Louise particularly draws upon models of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Systemic therapy, and mindfulness.
Her doctoral research explored how parents make sense of their experience of their child being diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome. This interest in understanding families’ constructions of meaning has continued through her clinical work in supporting children & families in the process of adjusting to chronic illness. Louise has also presented at national and international conferences on a range of topics relating to both paediatric psychology and autism.
