Ten years of The Chelsea Psychology Clinic
By Dr Elena Touroni, Founder and Consultant Psychologist

Ten years ago, we opened The Chelsea Psychology Clinic with the ambition of building a place where people felt understood, in a comfortable setting, with a bespoke service that delivered results.
Since 2016, more than 15,000 people have come through our doors. Adults, children and young people, couples and families, seen in person at our five London locations or online when that suits them better. Each arrived at a moment that mattered, and each was met by a named clinician who stayed with them from the first conversation.
A decade of considered care
We built the clinic around a simple conviction: that a complicated life deserves more than a single point of view. From the start we brought disciplines together, psychology, psychiatry and neurodevelopmental expertise, alongside a growing range of specialist services. It’s a considered, premium way of working, and for the people we see it has always meant they have the right expertise, in the right order, without being handed from one service to the next.
Much has grown in a decade, but what hasn’t changed is the standard. Every client still has a named clinician and we still take on only those we truly believe we can help. The clinical rigour that was non-negotiable on day one is non-negotiable now.

However, the world around us is definitely very different in many ways compared to when we opened. People often arrived having told no one what they were going through, half-convinced that what they faced was not serious enough to warrant help, but how Britain talks about mental health has certainly shifted, and this is a very welcome change.
What has changed in ten years
People can name what they’re experiencing with far more fluency than they could ten years ago, however, naming something and understanding it aren’t the same, and the distance between the two is where our most useful work still happens and it’s where this clinic continues to add value to the lives of the people we see.
To mark our ten years, we wanted to test our observations about the changes we have seen since we opened our doors so we commissioned original research, asking 2,000 people across Britain what has changed in how they experience, discuss and seek help for their mental health. The findings will be published later this month and whilst some confirm what practice has long suggested, others certainly surprised us.
Looking ahead
Ten years has also taught us to keep shaping our services around the people who use them, so that care is easier to navigate and good outcomes come sooner. In that spirit, we’ll be introducing new services through the coming months of 2026 which feels a fitting way to mark the decade. We’ll have more to say on this very soon.
For now, I want simply to thank the clients who have trusted us, and the clinicians who have brought their best work here, year after year. Ten years in, the work feels as necessary and as serious as it did at the beginning.
We are only getting started.
