If you ever find yourself in a crisis or feel that you might be a danger to yourself or others, please know that support is available. We strongly encourage you to seek emergency care without hesitation.

The NHS team can provide guidance, arrange face-to-face community support, or direct you to alternative services like crisis cafés or safe havens, which offer a calming space outside of A&E or hospital settings.

In an Emergency

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please call 999 or go to your nearest A&E. At A&E, you’ll find an on-call Psychiatric Liaison team who can: 
  • Conduct an initial assessment of your mental health needs 
  • Help keep you safe in the short-term 
  • Prescribe medication to help manage acute symptoms 
  • Connect you with local crisis services, such as your Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment (CRHT) team 
  • Determine the best next steps, whether returning home or being admitted to a hospital for further care
