Antonia Carding-Wright

Schools and Education Lead

Antonia Carding-Wright first began her training as a mental health nurse at the University of Nottingham, completing a Masters in Nursing Science, before further specialising with a PGCert in Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health: Interdisciplinary Practice at The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. She also completed training as a Professional Nurse Advocate (PNA) at the University of Wolverhampton. Her career spans clinical work with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), supporting children, adolescents, and their wider systems in inpatient, community, residential, and intensive support settings. She now works as Schools and Education Lead at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic, overseeing partnerships with schools, systems-level interventions, and strategic development, while maintaining her expertise in systemic and therapeutic approaches.

In her clinical work, Ms Carding-Wright draws on specialist training in Systemic Practice, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT). She applies a flexible, relational approach, considering the wider systems around children and young people when providing support.

She works with children and adolescents experiencing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, attachment issues, behavioural management difficulties, self-esteem difficulties, self-harm, and neurodevelopmental conditions (ADHD, ASD). Whatever someone is struggling with, Ms Carding-Wright aims to offer support that recognises and respects their unique needs and experiences.

Alongside her clinical and therapeutic work, Ms Carding-Wright has extensive experience in senior leadership within the NHS, having served as clinical leader, professional lead for nursing, and Associate Director of Nursing. She has led large teams, overseen complex systems, and is experienced in working with internal and external stakeholders, commissioners, and regulatory bodies. She also has a strong background in clinical supervision, reflective practice, and workforce well-being.
