Dakshina Raghavendra first began her training with a BA in Psychology at the University of Delhi, graduating with First Class Honours, before going on to complete an MSc in Applied Forensic Psychology with Counselling at the University of Bath and a PGDip from the Forensic Psychology Practitioner Program at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Her path has taken her through community services and forensic contexts, where she’s supported young people (16+), adults, and families, with personality difficulties, complex trauma, and family systems, which has shaped the way she now works with clients.
In the therapy room, Ms Raghavendra brings a relational and attachment-focused approach. She draws on training in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Mentalisation-Based Therapy (MBT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed interventions and a particular interest in trauma recovery, interpersonal relational difficulties, and the impact of early life experiences, but most importantly, she adapts what she does to fit the person in front of her.
All clinicians at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic are trained to conduct comprehensive assessments, considering you as a whole person rather than a specific issue. They tailor treatment and integrate multiple therapeutic perspectives to create a plan that is both evidence-based and uniquely suited to you.
Ms Raghavendra works with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, stress, emotional dysregulation, self-esteem difficulties, PTSD, childhood abuse, and interpersonal difficulties, and has specialist experience in personality disorders, complex trauma, neurodiversity, relational issues, and working through generational or family trauma. Whatever someone is struggling with, Ms Raghavendra aims to offer support that recognises and respects their unique needs and experiences.
Alongside her therapy work, Ms Raghavendra is also involved in supervising others, facilitating reflective practice, and training professionals in attachment theory and vicarious trauma, reflecting her passion for supporting fellow practitioners and sharing her profound expertise in complex trauma.
