Dr Aishwarya Sambath

Counselling Psychologist

Dr Aishwarya Sambath first began her training with a BSc in Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Leicester, before going on to complete her Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology (DCounsPsych) at City, University of London. Her path has taken her through roles as a senior psychologist in secondary care community mental health services, specialist personality disorder services, primary care (IAPT), health psychology, and private practice, shaping the way she now works with clients.

In the therapy room, Dr Sambath brings a specialist, evidence-based approach. She draws on training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Systems Training for Emotional Predictability and Problem Solving (STEPPS), and is currently training in Schema Therapy. She integrates these approaches to meet the needs of each client, focusing on helping individuals manage complex psychological and emotional challenges.

All clinicians at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic are trained to conduct comprehensive assessments, considering you as a whole person rather than a specific issue. They tailor treatment and integrate multiple therapeutic perspectives to create a plan that is both evidence-based and uniquely suited to you.

Dr Sambath works with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, stress, personality disorders, relationship difficulties, work stress, career-related issues, phobias, OCD, PTSD, and trauma/abuse.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Sambath regularly guest lectures on Doctoral Clinical Psychology courses and contributes to supervision and consultancy, reflecting her passion for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based practice and supporting the next generation of psychologists.
