Dr Alexandra Rhodes first began her training with a BSc in Psychology at the University of Exeter, graduating with a 2:1 and First Class Dissertation, before going on to complete a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology (DClinPsy) at the University of Roehampton. Her path has taken her through NHS services, where she has supported adults and young people, and into complex trauma work, which has shaped the way she now works with clients.
In the therapy room, Dr Rhodes brings a flexible and integrative approach, drawing on specialist training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Mentalisation-Based Therapy (MBT). She is fully committed to meeting people where they are and tailoring her approach to each individual’s history, context, and experiences.
All clinicians at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic are trained to conduct comprehensive assessments, considering you as a whole person rather than a specific issue. They tailor treatment and integrate multiple therapeutic perspectives to create a plan that is both evidence-based and uniquely suited to you.
Dr Rhodes works with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, stress/burn out, self esteem difficulties, trauma, PTSD, complex PTSD, dissociative conditions, relationship difficulties, self harm, suicidality, and neurodevelopmental difficulties (ASD, ADHD). She has specialist experience in complex trauma, personality disorders, and dissociative identity disorder, as well as supporting individuals from gender and sexually diverse backgrounds. Whatever someone is struggling with, Dr Rhodes aims to offer support that recognises and respects their unique needs and experiences.
Alongside her therapy work, Dr Rhodes has experience working systemically with young people, including those who are care leavers or considered “difficult to reach,” reflecting her passion for holistic, compassionate, and meaningful approaches to care.
