Dr Ben Wethered first began their training with a BA in Philosophy and Theology at the University of Oxford, before completing a Psychology MSc conversion course at the University of East London and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) at Royal Holloway, University of London. Their path has taken them through a broad range of NHS services, including IAPT, CAMHS, Older Adults, substance misuse, and community mental health, where they have supported adults, young people, and older adults, shaping the way they now work with clients.
In the therapy room, Dr Wethered brings a flexible and person-centred approach, drawing on training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Schema-Informed Therapy, helping clients explore their experiences in a straightforward, accepting, and authentic manner.
All clinicians at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic are trained to conduct comprehensive assessments, considering you as a whole person rather than a specific issue. They tailor treatment and integrate multiple therapeutic perspectives to create a plan that is both evidence-based and uniquely suited to you.
Dr Wethered works with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, stress, obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD), bereavement, psychosis, complex trauma, and burnout. Whatever someone is struggling with, Dr Wethered aims to offer support that recognises and respects their unique needs and experiences.
