Dr Chiara Vari

Clinical Psychologist and Psychodynamic Psychotherapist

Dr Chiara Vari first began her training with an MSc in Clinical Psychology at Sapienza University of Rome, before going on to complete a PhD in Clinical Psychology at the same institution. She later completed an MA in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. Her path has taken her through clinical work in both Italy and the UK, and she now works within the NHS alongside her private practice.

In the therapy room, Dr Vari brings an approach grounded in Psychodynamic Therapy and Schema Therapy. Her focus is on offering a long-term therapeutic space where individuals can deepen their personal understanding. Her work is reflective, exploratory, and centred on understanding the deeper origins of clients’ experiences.

All clinicians at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic are trained to conduct comprehensive assessments, considering you as a whole person rather than a specific issue. They tailor treatment and integrate multiple therapeutic perspectives to create a plan that is both evidence-based and uniquely suited to you.

Dr Vari works with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, stress, self esteem difficulties, trauma, life transitions, motherhood, relationship difficulties, interpersonal difficulties, and adjustment difficulties/disorder, as well as the emotional impact of long-term physical health conditions.Having worked in health psychology research, she is interested in the psychological impact of medical health conditions e.g. skin diseases, muscle conditions.
