Dr Divina Pillay is a general adult psychiatrist working across the NHS and private sector. Her NHS work is currently as a clinical researcher with Kings College London in the field of Type 1 Diabetes and Eating Disorders, more commonly known as Diabulimia. Previous roles in the NHS have been as the clinical lead for an outpatient Eating Disorder Service in London involved in complex assessments, liaison and pathway development.
She has special interests in the helping patients with Eating Disorders, Addictions, Anxiety Disorders, Stress and Burnout, although her experience in mental health covers all areas of inpatient and community services.
Dr Pillay qualified as a doctor in 2003 in South Africa and she has trained in mental health services in her home country, in Ireland and the UK. She has been involved in lecturing medical students and different areas of research over the years. She has a particular interest in a holistic approach to health and wellbeing and is trained in Yoga Therapy and Mindfulness for Mental Health.
