Dr Emily Patel first began her training with a DClinPsy in Clinical Psychology at University College London (UCL). Her path has taken her through NHS services and private practice, where she has supported individuals across a broad spectrum of mental health difficulties, which has shaped the way she now works with clients.
In the therapy room, Dr Patel draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Schema Therapy (ST), and Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT). She thoughtfully combines therapy models bespoke to each client’s needs.
All clinicians at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic are trained to conduct comprehensive assessments, considering you as a whole person rather than a specific issue. They tailor treatment and integrate multiple therapeutic perspectives to create a plan that is both evidence-based and uniquely suited to you.
Dr Patel works with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, stress, ADHD, ASD, OCD, trauma, burnout, functional or somatoform disorders (such as chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and persistent physical pain), and interpersonal and relationship difficulties. She particularly enjoys working with clients who have already tried other psychological interventions and wish to explore deeper self-understanding to facilitate symptomatic relief.
