Dr Potticary is a Clinical Psychologist working with adults in both the NHS and private practice. Dr Potticary obtained an undergraduate degree in Psychology at University of Westminster, with first class honours, followed by an MSc in Clinical Neuropsychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London. Dr Potticary completed the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London.
Alongside her private work, Dr Potticary provides psychological therapy to individuals with a diagnosis of cancer, in the NHS. Prior to this, Dr Potticary worked at The Royal London Hospital’s Major Trauma Centre, providing trauma-informed psychological support to patients who had sustained life-threatening polytraumatic injuries following a traumatic event.
Dr Potticary supports clients to commit to meaningful behaviours in their lives and act in valued direction, even in the presence of difficult and painful experiences. Dr Potticary believes in the importance of adopting a compassionate and person-centred approach, meeting clients where they are at and supporting them to reach their therapeutic goals.
Dr Potticary works with clients with a wide range of difficulties, including low mood, anxiety, work-related stress, burnout, trauma, low self-esteem, health anxiety, sleep difficulties and more. Dr Potticary is trained in several evidence-based therapeutic models and has particular affinities with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Narrative Therapy.
