Dr Jennifer Lennon first began her training with a BA Hons in Psychology at Trinity College Dublin, before completing an MSc in Applied Psychology (Distinction) at Trinity College Dublin and a Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) at the University of East London. Her professional background includes extensive experience in child and adolescent mental health services, supporting children and young people with intellectual, physical, and developmental disabilities, as well as working closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to provide assessment, therapy, and consultation. She has also supported parents in Neonatal Intensive Care Units, helping families adjust to the challenges of premature birth and complex health needs. This varied experience has shaped the way she now works with clients.
In the therapy room, Dr Lennon brings a pluralistic and systemic approach. She draws on training in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT),Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy (ST) and Narrative Therapy, integrating Trauma-Focused and Trauma-Informed Approaches and Systemic Family Therapy (SFT). She tailors her approach to the needs of the child and family, working both individually and within a family therapy context. She aims to work collaboratively, prioritising the individual’s context, experiences, and goals and believes in families and young people receiving the right support at the right time.
All clinicians at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic are trained to conduct comprehensive assessments, considering you as a whole person rather than a specific issue. They tailor treatment and integrate multiple therapeutic perspectives to create a plan that is both evidence-based and uniquely suited to you.
She works with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Self Esteem Difficulties, Adjustment Difficulties/Disorder/Illness, OCD, and Long-Term Health Conditions, and has specialist experience in ASD, ADHD, Learning Difficulty/Disability, and supporting children and families with Intellectual and Physical Disabilities.
