Dr Laura McDermott completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Glasgow further to obtaining a MSc in Psychological Studies in 2010 and additional MSc in Psychological Therapy in Primary Care in 2012 (both with distinction). She has practiced within the NHS in an Adult Psychological Therapies Service and more recently in a specialist Oncology service in central London.
Dr McDermott is trained in several evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Interpersonal Psychotherapy. Dr McDermott has extensive experience of working therapeutically with clients with a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties and low self-esteem. She has a particular interest in supporting clients with experience of cancer and other long-term physical health conditions.
