Dr Leonie Lee-Carbon is a warm and compassionate Clinical Psychologist who has worked in the field of mental health for over 10 years in the UK and abroad.
Dr Lee-Carbon completed her Psychology BSc degree at the University of Surrey, which included a placement year at Harvard University. After a period of working in research, Dr Lee-Carbon embarked upon a master’s in the Netherlands reading cognitive and clinical neuroscience specialising in psychopathology. She went on to complete a postgraduate certificate in Cognitive Behavioural therapeutic interventions at University College London before undertaking her Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (Kings College London).
Dr Lee-Carbon has experience working with all ages across the developmental lifespan including delivering therapeutic interventions during pregnancy to support parental bonding, to working with older adults. She uses an integrative approach drawing upon evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), attachment theory and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Using a trauma-informed lens, Dr Lee-Carbon offers a safe and inclusive therapeutic space. She has a specialist interest in perinatal mental health conditions, work-related stress, school related stress, anxiety, low mood, and matters surrounding social injustice. Currently, she works with children in the NHS as a lead psychologist using a collaborative and person-centred framework.
