Dr Lisa Cohen

Clinical Psychologist

Dr Lisa Cohen first began her training with an MA in Psychology at the University of Edinburgh, graduating with first-class honours, before completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) at University College London (UCL). Her path has taken her through almost a decade in a central London NHS Adult Psychological Therapies Service, where she provided psychological assessment, consultation, therapy, and clinical supervision, and into her current role leading a team that delivers individual, group, and organisational support to NHS staff working in Acute Hospitals.

In the therapy room, Dr Cohen brings a warm, thoughtful, and evidence-based approach. She draws on training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-based approaches. She is particularly interested in how meaningful therapeutic relationships can help people understand their emotional worlds and move toward more fulfilling patterns of living.

All clinicians at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic are trained to conduct comprehensive assessments, considering you as a whole person rather than a specific issue. They tailor treatment and integrate multiple therapeutic perspectives to create a plan that is both evidence-based and uniquely suited to you.

Dr Cohen works with individuals experiencing a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, stress, emotional dysregulation, trauma, low self-esteem, OCD, ADHD and ASD, and relationship and interpersonal difficulties. She is passionate about supporting clients to develop more effective coping strategies and cultivate a greater sense of wellbeing.
