Dr Monica Charalambides first began her training in clinical psychology at King’s College London, before going on to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Psychosis at King’s College London. Her path has taken her through National Specialist and local NHS services as well as private healthcare, where she has supported adults with a wide range of psychological difficulties, and into highly specialist clinical psychology work with complex presentations, trauma and psychosis, which has shaped the way she now works with clients.
In the therapy room, Dr Charalambides brings a compassionate and empathetic approach. She draws on training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), systemic practices, schema therapy, EMDR and Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), and a particular interest in complexity, trauma and psychosis. Key to her approach is compassion and empathy for a client’s difficulties and working collaboratively to understand, process, accept and progress in whatever challenges they face.
She works with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including depression, stress, anxiety, panic, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma related problems including PTSD, self-esteem issues, anger, interpersonal difficulties, unusual or psychotic experiences and bipolar affective disorder, and have specialist experience in complex presentations, trauma and psychosis. Whatever someone is struggling with, Dr Monica aims to offer support that recognises and respects their unique needs and experiences.
Alongside their therapy work, Dr Monica is also involved in work across NHS and private healthcare settings, reflecting their passion for helping people create lasting, meaningful change in their lives.
