Dr Obioha Ukaegbu is a consultant psychiatrist who works both in the NHS for a Community Mental Health Team in North London as well as in private practice. He has extensive and deep experience of working with major and minor mental health disorders and has been in the psychiatric profession for ten years.
The breadth of his work in general adult psychiatry has included (but not limited to): schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder, depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, agoraphobia, obsessive compulsive disorder, body dysmorphic disorder, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, autistic spectrum disorder, personality disorders. He also has experience working with clients dealing with mental and behavioural disorders due to use of substances or alcohol dependence.
Of note, he has special interest in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and has detailed experience of working with the condition as an assessor and an independent prescriber. His assessments are thorough and cover the full make up of an individual with the endeavour of a precise diagnosis. He has prescribed all the common stimulants and non-stimulants for the disorder and has initiated and followed up treatment on a regular basis.
