Dr Philippa Buckley first began her training with a medical degree at Stellenbosch University in South Africa, before completing her specialist training in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Great Ormond Street/East London higher training scheme. Her career has taken her through a variety of NHS settings, including outpatient and inpatient services, where she has supported children and adolescents with a wide range of mental health conditions. She now works in private practice as a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist in London.
In her work, Dr Buckley combines evidence-based psychiatric interventions with a holistic understanding of young people’s developmental, social, and familial context. She draws on her experience to assess, diagnose, and provide medication management alongside therapeutic support for children and adolescents. Dr Buckley is passionate about early intervention, believing that timely support prepares young people to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. All clinicians at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic are trained to conduct comprehensive assessments, considering you as a whole person rather than a specific issue. They tailor treatment and integrate multiple perspectives to create a plan that is both evidence-based and uniquely suited to you.
Dr Buckley works with children and adolescents facing a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, stress, ADHD, ASD, eating disorders, feeding difficulties, adjustment to diagnosis, and mood disorders. She supports young people in understanding their neurodevelopmental diagnoses, embracing their strengths, and navigating challenges effectively.
