Dr Reena Amin is an experienced Chartered Clinical Psychologist and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. She is also an Accredited Cognitive Behaviour Therapist and is registered with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies.
Dr Amin has gained extensive clinical experience in a variety of NHS settings ranging from primary, secondary and tertiary care. Dr Amin specialises in working with adult mental health and has worked with a range of difficulties such as depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, generalised anxiety, phobias and personality disorders. She has specialist interests and expertise in post-traumatic stress disorder and eating disorders.
Dr Amin has specialist training and skills in various therapeutic approaches and is skilled in delivering psychological interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy. In addition to her clinical work, Dr Amin also provides clinical supervision and training.
In the NHS, Dr Amin is currently working as a Senior Clinical Psychologist within Offender Care with adults with complex and enduring mental health difficulties. In addition, she works as a Clinical Tutor at University College London and Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN) at Kings College London offering teaching, training and supervision.
Dr Amin obtained her BSC (Hons) in Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire, and then completed a MSc in Health Psychology at City University. She completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Surrey and then went on to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at the IoPPN, Kings College London. Dr Amin has published research in international scientific journals in the area of eating disorders.
