Dr Rowena Russell is a clinical psychologist. She completed her master’s degree in Psychology at Kingston University and her Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London.
Dr Russell’s approach to therapy is based on the idea that developing a compassionate, trusting relationship with one’s authentic self forms the foundation for meaningful growth and fulfilment. Therefore, she prioritises developing a compassionate, trusting therapeutic alliance, and works in a person-centred way, applying therapeutic models flexibly and integratively according to each client’s needs. Dr Russell uses cognitive-behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, schema therapy, compassion-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapies and mindfulness-based approaches. Dr Russell has an interest in consciousness and spirituality and according to client needs and goals, can also facilitate exploration in these areas.
Dr Russell has experience working with a range of client difficulties including depression, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, emotional dysregulation, trauma and persistent pain (chronic pain).
