Dr Rowena Russell first began her training with an MSc in Psychology from Kingston University, before completing her DClinPsy at Royal Holloway, University of London. Her path has taken her through roles in NHS and private practice settings, shaping the way she now works with clients.
In the therapy room, Dr Russell brings a compassionate, person-centred approach, tailoring her work to the needs of each individual. She prioritises developing a trusting therapeutic alliance and applies therapeutic models flexibly and integratively. She draws on training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Approaches. She also has an interest in consciousness and spirituality and can explore these areas with clients according to their goals.
All clinicians at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic are trained to conduct comprehensive assessments, considering you as a whole person rather than a specific issue. They tailor treatment and integrate multiple therapeutic perspectives to create a plan that is both evidence-based and uniquely suited to you.
Dr Russell works with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, stress, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), emotional dysregulation, trauma, interpersonal and relationship difficulties, ADHD and ASD, and chronic pain. Whatever someone is struggling with, Dr Russell aims to offer support that recognises and respects their unique needs and experiences.
