Dr Samantha Young first began her training with a BA in Psychology with English at the University of Leicester, before going on to complete an MSc in Psychology at Nottingham Trent University and a Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) at the University of East Anglia. Her path has taken her through NHS and voluntary sector services, where she has supported children, young people, and adults, shaping the way she now works with clients.
In the therapy room, Dr Young brings a flexible and integrative approach, drawing on specialist training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mentalisation-Based Therapy (MBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Narrative Therapy, and is trained to conduct ASC assessments using the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS). Dr Young is a neuroaffirmative and compassion-focused practitioner, passionate about supporting people to understand and work with their unique experiences.
All clinicians at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic are trained to conduct comprehensive assessments, considering you as a whole person rather than a specific issue. They tailor treatment and integrate multiple therapeutic perspectives to create a plan that is both evidence-based and uniquely suited to you.
Dr Young works with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, stress/burn out, self esteem difficulties, OCD, trauma, PTSD, self harm, ADHD and relationship difficulties. She has specialist experience in autism spectrum (ASD) and supporting clients navigating late diagnosis of neurodivergence.
