Dr Sanj Parhar completed his Doctorate in Psychology from Roehampton University where he trained in Person-Centred therapy, Psychodynamic therapy and Cognitive Behaviour therapy. Throughout his career, Dr Parhar has worked both in the public and private sectors. He started working in the NHS where he gained vast experience working with complex mental health conditions.
Dr Parhar further worked at the Priory Hospital where he focused on treating clients with addictions and long-term mental health struggles. This includes inpatient and outpatient settings with both adults and adolescents. Dr Parhar has specialist experience in addictions, such as gambling, alcohol and drugs. He also has experience in treating eating disorders, depression, anxiety, stress and personality disorders in both individual and group settings.
As a Counselling Psychologist, Dr Parhar’s broad training has allowed him to develop an integrative approach in his practice. He values the uniqueness of each individual and a strong focus on the therapeutic relationship. He believes in helping clients to access and process their difficult emotions, work towards meeting their needs, and resolving conscious and unconscious dynamics. Through this, he believes change can be possible and resilience achieved in mental health.
