Dr Sophie Marshall

Consultant Clinical Psychologist

Dr Sophie Marshall has a DClinPsy in Clinical Psychology. She has worked across a variety of NHS and academic settings, supporting adolescents, adults, and couples, including as clinical and service lead for a specialist forensic service at the Tavistock and Portman Clinic, and as a lecturer in psychology at Birkbeck University London and the Association of Psychological Therapies (APT).

In the therapy room, Dr Marshall brings a flexible and collaborative approach, drawing on training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). She tailors therapy to the individual or couple, adapting what she does to meet the person in front of her. Dr Marshall has a passion and commitment to enhancing the wellbeing of people whose presenting difficulties are impacting on their ability to engage in life fully.

All clinicians at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic are trained to conduct comprehensive assessments, considering you as a whole person rather than a specific issue. They tailor treatment and integrate multiple therapeutic perspectives to create a plan that is both evidence-based and uniquely suited to you.

Dr Marshall works with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, self-esteem difficulties, personality difficulties, relational difficulties, ADHD, ASD, and OCD. She has extensive experience working with people experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties, interpersonal and personality difficulties, harmful behaviours and chronic or severe mental health presentations. Whatever someone is struggling with, Dr Marshall aims to offer support that recognises and respects their unique needs and experiences.

Alongside her therapy work, Dr Marshall is committed to enhancing wellbeing through teaching, supervision, and service leadership, reflecting her passion for supporting both clients and professionals.
