Dr Zoe Knight completed her BSc in Psychology at Goldsmiths College, an MSc in Foundations of Clinical Psychology at Bangor University and Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at University of East London. She has been working as a Counselling Psychologist with young people and adults in various NHS trusts and private practice since 2012.
Dr Knight has a range of experience of working with individuals and groups, across both adult and young people’s services. She integrates a number of models including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Compassion Focused Therapy and Psychodynamic therapy to best meet the needs of her clients. Dr Knight has particular expertise in Mentalisation Based Therapy and is an accredited practitioner in this model. She also has specialist training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Schema Therapy.
Dr Knight is highly skilled in working with children, young people and adults who are experiencing various types of emotional difficulties, such as phobias, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, personality disorders, psychosis, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, work and exam related stress, relationship difficulties, bereavement, loss and adjustment difficulties.
Dr Knight has also held leadership roles both within the NHS and the private sector and has a great deal of experience working with organisations, teams and managers. As such, Dr Knight has completed advanced training in Organisational Consultancy from The Tavistock Clinic and works as an Executive Coach. The combination of leadership experience, consultancy, coaching and psychological knowledge means that Dr Knight is able to understand organisational and leadership dilemmas and put together a bespoke package of support accordingly.
Dr Knight’s philosophy of change has particular emphasis on enhancing psychological well-being and helping individuals reach full potential through a range of interventions.
