Fernanda Queiroz

Counselling Psychologist and a Psychotherapist

Fernanda is a Counselling Psychologist and Psychotherapist with experience providing therapy to adults and young people across a range of settings. She completed a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, followed by a Specialisation in Counselling Psychology and Gestalt Psychotherapy, which established a strong systemic and relational foundation for working with individuals, families, and groups. Fernanda further developed her clinical expertise by completing an MSc in Forensic Psychology, strengthening her evidence-based practice and skills in assessment and formulation.

In her work, Fernanda adopts a trauma-informed, integrative, and person-centred approach. She has an integrative approach grounded in Gestalt Psychotherapy and informed by various approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Systemic therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and varied psychoeducational interventions. She works collaboratively with clients and, where appropriate, incorporates creative and experiential methods, such as body awareness and reflective exercises, to support exploration beyond words. Fernanda creates a safe, non-judgemental space where clients can develop self-awareness, emotional resilience, and stronger connections with themselves and others.

All clinicians at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic are trained to conduct comprehensive assessments, considering you as a whole person rather than a specific issue. They tailor treatment and integrate multiple therapeutic perspectives to create a plan that is both evidence-based and uniquely suited to you.

Fernanda works with people across the lifespan, including children from the age of eight, teenagers, adults, and older adults, and has experience delivering both short- and long-term therapy in private practice, corporate, public, and third-sector services. She supports clients navigating a wide range of personal and relational challenges, including interpersonal difficulties, relationship concerns, difficulties around self-esteem, trauma and post-traumatic stress, anxiety, low mood, difficulties with emotional regulation, and stress related to work and family life. Additionally, she offers support to those managing the complexities of neurodivergence, including diagnosed with or traits of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other neurodevelopmental disorders like Dyscalculia and Dyslexia.
