Dr Io Vassiliadou

Clinical and Counselling Psychologist

Dr Io Vassiliadou first began her training with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology at the University of Westminster, London, before completing her Doctorate-equivalent in Clinical Psychology and Psychopathology at the University of Paris, France. Her path has taken her through various NHS settings, including a Specialist Multidisciplinary Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and a Specialist Autism Spectrum Disorder Service, shaping the way she now works with clients.

In the therapy room, Dr Vassiliadou brings a flexible, client-centred approach, integrating training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessment (ASD Assessment). She adapts what she does to fit the needs of the individual, working closely with children, young people, and adults.

All clinicians at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic are trained to conduct comprehensive assessments, considering you as a whole person rather than a specific issue. They tailor treatment and integrate multiple therapeutic perspectives to create a plan that is both evidence-based and uniquely suited to you.

Dr Vassiliadou works with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, stress/burn out, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), interpersonal difficulties, and life transitions. Whatever someone is struggling with, Dr Vassiliadou aims to offer support that recognises and respects their unique needs and experiences.
