Dr James Bisby has a background in psychology and completed his PhD in psychopharmacology at University College London in 2011, examining the impact of traumatic experiences on memory and how changes contribute to ongoing psychological symptoms. At University College London, he is a cognitive neuroscientist, researching the impact of trauma on the brain and how changes underpin the development and maintenance of trauma related symptoms, and using this to understand and inform treatment strategies.
He is also a lecturer in mental health sciences, teaching research methods and the current evidence base supporting mental health interventions. In the Chelsea Psychology Clinic, Dr Bisby organises the implementation, collection and analysis of patient outcome measures. This work aims to use data to evaluate and optimise treatment outcomes and client experiences.
