Joanne Williams obtained her BA(Hons) in Psychology from Rhodes University, South Africa before completing her clinical psychology training at the University of Zululand, South Africa. She relocated to England in 2007 and worked in a variety of forensic areas in both private and NHS settings for a decade before moving to Guernsey, Channel Islands where she has worked in community adult settings for the past 3 years.
Joanne has amassed a wealth of experience with an expansive range of varying presentations including emotional difficulties such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, personality disorders, psychosis, PTSD, trauma, relationship difficulties and longer-term mental health difficulties such as schizophrenia and bi-polar mood disorders.
Joanne takes a holistic approach to each client integrating a number of models including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Analytical Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Systemic Therapy and EMDR. She has a special interest in Schema Therapy and is an accredited Schema Therapist.
