Ms Magdalena García is a clinical psychologist from Chile, where she began her studies. In 2016, she trained in child and adolescent psychotherapy, later completing an MSc in Affective Disorders in the UK.
Ms García has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with general mental health conditions. She has an interest in and experience working with a broad spectrum of psychiatric disorders and concerns, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, bereavement, adjustment difficulties, low self-esteem, interpersonal relationship and attachment difficulties, PTSD and trauma, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Ms García specialises in eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia, ARFID and OSFED, as well as mood disorders, such as depression, bipolar and anxiety.
Ms García has specialist training in Mentalization-Based Treatment, as well as training in Systemic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Psychoanalysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Transactional Analysis. She practices from an integrative approach, believing that treatment should be tailored to each client’s unique needs. She uses a range of other therapeutic modalities, including talking therapy, art and creative therapy, games, and sand tray, where she will collaboratively build a trusting relationship with her clients, enabling them to feel secure as they gain self-awareness and embark on a path of positive change. Ms García prioritises creating a safe and supportive environment for her clients to comfortably express their thoughts and emotions, free from judgment.
