Megan Brophy first began her training with a BA in Psychology at Stellenbosch University, before completing a Counselling Diploma at the South African College of Applied Psychology. She went on to achieve an Honours Degree in Psychology at the University of South Africa, graduating with First Class Honours, followed by an MSc in Forensic Psychology with First Class Honours at the University of Kent, and a Doctoral-level Postgraduate Diploma in Practitioner Forensic Psychology at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Her path has taken her through general adult mental health, forensic mental health, and specialist trauma and personality disorder services, where she has worked with young people and adults across the NHS, private, and third sector settings.
In the therapy room, Ms Brophy brings a creative, compassionate and engaging approach. She draws on training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CBT for ADHD), with a particular focus on emotional regulation and behaviour change. She has also received specialist training in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of ADHD and ADHD-informed therapy. Most importantly, she adapts what she does to fit the person in front of her.

She has specialist experience in personality disorder, emotional dysregulation, and ADHD. Whatever someone is struggling with, Ms Brophy aims to offer support that recognises and respects their unique needs and experiences.
Alongside her therapy work, Ms Brophy has held leadership roles within the NHS and remains actively involved in service development and clinical supervision, reflecting her commitment to enhancing psychological care across systems.
