Razeenah Mahomed is an Educational Psychologist and Psychometrist, who prides herself on her professionalism whilst maintaining a youthful approach to treatment. She graduated with her Masters in Psychology with distinction with a research focus on ADHD and parenting methods, leading to a keen interest in neurodevelopmental disorders, and mental health pathology.
Ms Mahomed works in private practice, academia as well as within the NHS in service design and delivery and the management of multi-disciplinary teams. She has worked with countless individuals, groups, schools, young people and families to improve their lives and give them back a sense of control, self-worth, hope and joy, and ability to re-integrate into their communities. She is trained in several specialist therapeutic approaches such as dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches and Psychodynamic therapy.
Ms Mahomed has a track record of delivering high-quality services for individuals with all common emotional difficulties, psychological assessments and play therapy. Additionally, her work experiences in the United States and South Africa equips her to work with individuals of diverse cultural descent and on various mental health platforms. Her passion for understanding mental health and human behaviour has led her to explore and treat various mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, grief, self-harm and trauma, stress, eating disorders, and children with learning and behavioural difficulties.
Ms Mahomed is passionate about working with children, adolescents and young adults and has built her practice on the foundation of psychodynamic understanding and person-centred ideologies along with adopting a positivist ethos in her practice.
