Ms Sharon Gardner first began her training with a BSc in Psychology at the Open University, Milton Keynes, before going on to complete an MSc in Health Psychology, an MSc in Counselling Psychology, and a Post-MSc Diploma in Counselling Psychology at City University, London. Her path has taken her through the NHS, private practice, and Ministry of Defence mental health services, where she has supported adults, and into trauma and PTSD-focused work, which has shaped the way she now works with clients.
In the therapy room, Ms Gardner brings a collaborative and reflective approach. She draws on training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Approaches, Gestalt Psychodynamic Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)), and a particular interest in trauma approaches. She believes in working collaboratively with individuals to reflect and enable them to find solutions or manage their difficulties in a way that feels empowering and practical.
All clinicians at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic are trained to conduct comprehensive assessments, considering you as a whole person rather than a specific issue. They tailor treatment and integrate multiple therapeutic perspectives to create a plan that is both evidence-based and uniquely suited to you.
Ms Gardner works with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, stress, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, relationship difficulties, childhood sexual abuse, emotional dysregulation, and has specialist experience in trauma and PTSD.
Alongside her therapy work, Ms Gardner has three related publications and has presented at international trauma conferences, reflecting her passion for trauma recovery and evidence-based practice.
