Ms Sophie Arneil completed her Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Technology Sydney. Her career has taken her through private practice and public sector roles in Australia, including court diversion and outpatient addiction services, supporting both adults and young people with a range of mental health difficulties. She has also provided clinical supervision for psychologists in training.
In the therapy room, Ms Arneil brings a warm, collaborative approach. She draws on training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy (ST), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), integrating these approaches to tailor treatment to each client’s individual needs. She brings an empathic and non-judgmental stance to create a safe space for clients, fostering trust and collaboration so that they can explore and work through their difficulties.
All clinicians at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic are trained to conduct comprehensive assessments, considering you as a whole person rather than a specific issue. They tailor treatment and integrate multiple therapeutic perspectives to create a plan that is both evidence-based and uniquely suited to you.
Ms Arneil works with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, stress, relational difficulties, emotion dysregulation, personality disorders, complex trauma, substance misuse, and eating disorders. She also has experience supporting neurodivergent clients, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Her particular clinical interests include personality disorders, complex trauma, and substance misuse, reflecting her extensive experience in these areas.
