Exciting Opportunity for a HCPC Registered Educational Psychologist
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Educational Psychologist to join our Child, Young Person and Family Pathway. This role is ideal for clinicians who enjoy combining assessment work with therapeutic intervention and who value working within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. We welcome applications from both associate (self-employed) and employed clinicians.
Job Title: HCPC Registered Educational Psychologist
Salary: Up to £60,000 FTE (pro-rata, dependent on experience and contract type)
Contract: Associate or Permanent Employed (subject to probation)
Hours: Part-time, 1–2 days per week
Location: Hybrid – clinic-based (Central London), remote working, and school observations
Start Date: ASAP
Accountable To: Directors of Clinical Operations, Clinical Lead and Child, Young Person and Family Pathway Lead

Key Responsibilities
As an Educational Psychologist at TCPC, you will provide specialist psychological services including:
• Conducting comprehensive educational psychology assessments (including EHCP-related assessments)
• Delivering feedback sessions to children, young people, and their families
• Producing high-quality, evidence-based written reports
• Delivering time-limited therapeutic interventions where appropriate, alongside assessment work
• Providing therapeutic guidance and ongoing psychological support for children and young people with emotional, behavioural, and neurodevelopmental needs
• Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and making referrals internally when needed
• Conducting school observations and liaising with SENCOs and relevant school staff, supported by assistant psychologists
• Working primarily from clinic sites, with some off-site school-based work
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking qualified Educational Psychologists with experience working with children and young people in the UK. Essential and desirable criteria include:
• Psychology degree (or BPS equivalent)
• Doctorate in Educational Psychology (or UK equivalent)
• HCPC registration as an Educational Psychologist (essential)
• Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience
• Experience across a range of settings (e.g. UK schools, independent schools, public sector, private practice)
• Strong knowledge of the UK education system and school-based roles
• Experience administering standardised assessments (e.g. WISC-V, WIAT-III, WPPSI-IV or equivalent)
• Experience working with neurodevelopmental conditions, learning difficulties, and mental health needs
• Ability to adapt assessments for non-verbal children
• Confidence delivering therapeutic interventions alongside assessment work
• Excellent communication, organisational, and report-writing skills
• Commitment to high professional and ethical standards
