Role: Educational Psychologist at Private Mental Health Clinic
Salary: £60,000 FTE
Hours: 1-2 days per week
Location: Hybrid (On site at clinic location / remote / school observations)

Responsible to: Directors of Clinical Operations, Head of Clinical Services and Child, Young Person, and Family Pathway Lead.
About us
The Chelsea Psychology Clinic (TCPC) is a highly regarded mental health and wellbeing clinic that comprises a group of private psychiatrists, psychologists and other healthcare professionals. The clinic offers a space for independent, private practitioners to work together in an integrative way to provide a range of high-quality, client-focused clinical services. These services can include weekly therapy as well as educational and neurodevelopmental assessments.
TCPC was founded in 2016 by Dr Tom Pennybacker (Medical Director) and Dr Elena Touroni (Clinical Director) with four other associates based in one therapy room near Sloane Square, Chelsea. Since then, the clinic has grown considerably with an ever-growing number of associates and employees based across three sites – Harley Street, Eaton Gate and Pont Street near Sloane Square. The Clinic also offers a large provision of online therapy and assessments. The clinic operates from 8am to 10pm Monday to Friday and from 9am-6pm on Saturdays.
Role Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an educational psychologist to work 1-2 days per week within a multi-disciplinary team at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic. You will work within the Child, Young Persons and Family Pathway at the clinic liaising with other members of the team including psychologists, psychotherapists, nurses, psychiatrists, and nutritionists to meet the needs of our clients.
You will conduct one-off educational psychology assessments following which you will provide feedback to the child/young person and their family. You will also provide comprehensive reports to clients including those who are applying for EHCP support. You will likely work with children who also have neurodevelopmental conditions and/or mental health difficulties and where appropriate, you will be expected to provide therapeutic advice and refer them suitably to another member of our MDT for support in an ongoing manner.
You will primarily work at one of our clinic sites, but you may also be expected to conduct school observations where necessary. You will be required to liaise with all relevant school staff and SENCOs during school observations and you will have the support of an assistant psychologist on these visits.
Skills and Experience required:
We are seeking qualified Educational Psychologists to join our team.
· Psychology degree (or BPS equivalent); professional qualification in Educational Psychology (doctorate or UK equivalent); and registration with the HCPC as an Educational Psychologist is essential
· 2 years post qualification experiencing carrying out educational assessments and/or psychological assessments is essential
· Experience in different settings including but not limited to UK schools, independent schools, public sector and private practice is essential
· Knowledge of the UK educational system and significant roles of school staff
· Ability to effectively liaise with school staff (SENCO) to achieve best outcomes
· Experience in using WISC-V, WIAT-III, WPPSI-IV, or equivalent
· Experience with children who have learning difficulties, neurodevelopmental conditions as well as various mental health needs
· Experience working with non-verbal children and ability to adapt assessment accordingly
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with the young person’s family as well as the assistant psychologists and administrative team at the clinic
· Maintain high standards of practice, record keeping and report writing in accordance with professional codes of practice, the policies and procedures of the Educational Psychology Service
