It’s very common that people that are very high-functioning suffer from anxiety. It just manifests itself in different ways. So for instance, people might become extremely preoccupied about their work performance. Are they doing well enough? Have they achieved everything they have achieved through their own kind of worth? Or are they being a fraud? Most of our clients that have been highly performing jobs might suffer from those types of worries and anxieties. Also, people might become preoccupied over something seemingly very small. So they might be focusing anxiety on one very particular concrete difficulty. For instance, there might be people that might be frightened of a terrorist attack in a situation in which the likelihood of that is very, very slim. But somehow, an overall experience of pressure, and stress, and anxiety can manifest itself in a very particular thought and rumination that people have.
