Bullying at school is something that we see a lot of in children and young people who present to services. Obviously, it has a bigger impact on self-esteem and causes lots and lots of emotional difficulties. Therapy can be very appropriate. It’s a safe space to come and talk things through, to share the emotional experience that they’ve been having, the distress. And therapists can help the young person to talk through the situations and think about whether there’s other ways they might like to manage the bullies at school and to generally help them to start to think positively about themselves and to build them up and build up their sense of self-esteem.
