Psychologist Dr Elena Touroni explains that a typical treatment plan involves weekly sessions, though in some cases they may be more or less frequent, if appropriate for the therapy someone is receiving. The Chelsea Psychology Clinic are a group of London psychologists and psychiatrists offering private psychological therapy and psychiatry treatment from their premises across central London and Chelsea. The private therapy sessions cover the following areas: – Acceptance & Commitment Therapy – Cognitive Analytic Therapy – Cognitive-behavioural Therapy – Couples Therapy – Dialectical-behaviour Therapy – Mentalisation Based Treatment – Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy – Schema Therapy https://www.thechelseapsychologyclinic.com
The sessions are mostly once a week. Some people might end up seeing their psychologist or therapist twice a week if that is appropriate to the treatment that they’re receiving, but also to their needs in that moment in time. And also, we might have people that see their psychologist less frequently, so fortnightly or monthly. And lot of the time in the beginning of therapy, we would tend to see people once a week at least until we build a treatment plan and a therapeutic relationship. And then as time goes on, we might reduce the sessions if that is appropriate, and they actually require less input from us.
