Dr Elena Touroni

Consultant Psychologist, Clinical Director

Dr Elena Touroni is a founder and Clinic Director of The Chelsea Psychology Clinic. She obtained her BSc in Psychology at the American College of Greece, graduating with first-class honours, before completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Surrey. Her career has spanned clinical and managerial roles in the NHS, including Head of Service. Dr Touroni has also led multi-disciplinary teams, developed and delivered national and bespoke training, provided organisational consultancy, and co-founded a private practice in Central London delivering psychological therapy for adults and couples, including those with complex difficulties.

In the therapy room, Dr Touroni brings a collaborative and integrative approach, drawing on training in Schema Therapy (individuals and couples), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Couples Therapy, Mindfulness-based approaches, and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT). She tailors treatment to the individual, adapting therapeutic approaches to the client’s needs, and has a particular interest in enhancing psychological wellbeing and preventive approaches. She works fluently in English and Greek.

Dr Touroni works with adults and couples facing a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, stress, personality disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), eating disorders, adjustment difficulties, relationship difficulties, substance misuse and complex emotional difficulties.

Alongside her clinical work, she has held academic positions for the University of Surrey and the Institute of Mental Health lecturing on specialist postgraduate Masters and Doctorate programmes. Dr Touroni is actively involved in the co-creation of bespoke wellness retreats, reflecting her passion for developing preventative approaches to psychological wellbeing and transformative change.
